El Prado by
the Creek - Discover one of the up and
coming young artists in America at El Prado by the
Creek during “The Next Generation” show. Fredrick
Stephens, recently chosen by Southwest Art magazine
as one of their “21 under 31” emerging artists,
fuses land and light in unique landscape paintings
that bridge traditional tonal elegance with
contemporary flare. His creations reveal layers of
depth through the use of varying earth tones, and he
often combines splashes of vivid color to captivate
the observer. This is your chance to meet this young
artist and experience his nationally-renown work.
Friday night reception (10/3) and Saturday (10/4)
demonstrations. |

Erickson
Studio Gallery is where visitors can meet
the artist and see paintings in progress. Marilyn
Erickson paints the spectacular Southwest landscape
including Sedona and Grand Canyon. She enjoys
meeting the public and sharing her ideas about art.
She is happy to respond to any questions while she
will be working on her latest new painting. The
gallery also features exquisite pottery and
hand-made jewelry. Upper Level of Creekside Plaza,

Gallery of Modern Masters - Kicking off the
month of October with an artist reception for the
internationally acclaimed artist Virginia Gabaldo 5
to 8 PM and catered by the popular restaurant, Elote
Cafe. Gabaldo’s unique technique of reverse-painted
glass bas reliefs creates spellbinding images that
spur the imagination. Join us for wine and hor
d’oeuvres before dinner. |

Goldenstein Gallery continues their of
tradition featuring internationally
renown, contemporary Native American and Western
Artists this October and
November. This show represents the quintessential
Indian and Western
cultures. Among the stars of this special show are
David DeVary, known for his
"Cowboys & Cowgirls with Attitude". Upton Ethelbah (Greyshoes)
is the
recent winner of the Best of Show in Bronze
Sculpture. Star York, who was
chosen as one of the 30 most influential artists by
Southwest Art Magazine.
Jan Van Ek whose equinine sculpture are collected
internationally and
Painter Jim Van Deman whose evocative paintings are
a reflection of his
Delaware Tribal heritage. |

James Ratliff Gallery will be introducing
the work of artist Angela Mia
De La Vega. Her sculptures have been attracting much
attention over the years and we are very happy to be
showing her work. Exalting the human spirit by
creating realistic faces and body movements that are
not stilted or staged is how we can easily
recognized the unique art of Angela Mia De la Vega’s
figurative bronze sculpture. Her work’s greatest
inspiration is the wonderful realm of the
ever-changing individuality of the children she
portrays. |

Kinion Fine
Art presents a spectacular landscape
exhibition. The show will feature Cody DeLong, Tom
Fish, Linda J. Lee and Tom Lynch. Award-winning
DeLong of Jerome is known for a breathtaking sense
of light. Fish’s work looks photographic but as the
viewer moves closer an impressionistic style
emerges. Linda J. Lee combines spectacular terrain
with dramatic illumination and color. Tom Lynch’s
use of shimmering coloring and romantic lighting
unveil his reverence for the landscape. |

Glass Gallery will be presenting the
hand-blown glassworks of Stephen Gartner and
Danielle Blade from Ashley Falls, MA. Their work is
inspired by nature along with their fascination with
primitive cultures and rituals. |

the joyful and colorful hand-made, hand-painted

Mountain Trails
Gallery celebrates three of Sedona's most
respected women artists during the month of October.
Renowned sculptor Susan Kliewer, impressionistic
watercolor and oil painter Betty Carr, and acrylic
painter Lisa Danielle comprise our "Three Women" for
the First Friday Artwalk on October 3. Susan will be
showcasing her newest sculpture depicting a young
Navajo mother - Shima. Betty's work reflects the
beauty of the many landscapes she has captured will
teaching throughout the world and Lisa Danielle will
debut Native artifact paintings rich in tradition
and detail. |

Sedona Arts Center - “Season of Change” at
the Fine Art Members Gallery presents the artistic
interpretation of the season by five featured
artists - Susan Pitcairn (Oils), Laura Pokorny
(Ceramics), Bobbie Stearn (Oils), Harvey Stearn
(Photography), and Jennifer Defoe (Jewelry). Enjoy a
beautiful autumn evening filled with beautiful art,
fine wine and the creative energy of artists and art
